Spring is on the horizon, and signs of renewed buyer interest are sprouting up as record affordability remains in play. Aside from the recently reported increase in both existing- and new-home sales nationally, there is also evidence of a solid spring market closer to home.
Take, for example, the level of foot traffic we saw last weekend at our Open Houses. Attendance was up 24 percent compared to the same weekend last year, and the average number of attendees at each Weichert Open House was 44 percent greater than during the same weekend in 2010. If you haven’t already planned an Open House for this coming weekend, do it now.
Then there is the January report from Hitwise, a company that monitors the activity of major websites. According to the report, Weichert.com had more than 3.1 million visits in January, leading it to a third-place ranking among real estate brokerage websites. This latest ranking places Weichert.com above many of our national real estate competitors, including Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Keller Williams and Long & Foster.
Get ready! The buyers are coming back, and they’re coming to Weichert.
